Unfortunately, the quality of these discs was bad so I still have some work to do. This is an improvement as my attempted 16x burns previously had only burned at 8x max. MKM 00h Write speeds: I know little about disc quality so am really not sure what to look for. I am not overly concerned about audio aspects and CD burning. Sorry for the long post, all comments much appreciated and thanks for such a great forum and a wealth of information, without which I would never have got this far.

Read 12x, Write 8x. I just noticed that I had aspi 7. Just checking one piece of vital information. I have now removed ASPI completely afaik so will try another test soon.
Right, now we have all those pics out of the way, I have a few questions I own the same drive using an USB connection. Other than the lote, the drive offers no new features or increased speeds in comparison to the previous releases. Also, running Nero burn Lite on dvdrw shm 165p6s tool helps in many cases. I know little about disc quality so am really not sure what to look for. I will be doing my best to strip ASPI from my system so it can be ruled out as a problem, if you have any 615p6s for a guide to remove it completely please let me know Google here I come.
A better burn than at 8x! Burned at 16x General Information Drive: I also downloaded SmartBurn 3. Not really sure what to expect in a good one so am dvdrrw really.

I am not overly concerned about audio lite on dvdrw shm 165p6s and CD burning. We used LightOn’s automatic firmware update, as shown in the screenshots below, and with three clicks we managed to successfully update the drive’s firmware. These speeds remained the same regardless of the type of disc in the drive at the time.
